Prehistoric Looking Spiny Orb Weaver Spiders Infest Pool Lanai Cages

Spiney Orb Weaver Spider

Coming soon to a pool cage near you… The Spiny Orb Weaver, also known as The Spiny-Backed Orbweaver. This little guy is a very common site in the pool cages of southern Florida homes from Port Charlotte to Bradenton and beyond. Making a beautiful orb-shaped web that anchors to the pool cage supports or nearby chairs, this hunter loves to help keep you lanai or patio free of flying insects. Although all spiders are venomous, this spider is pretty harmless despite his menacing looks. Known for laying their eggs under nearby items like leaves or furniture, this arachnid has adapted to life in close proximity of people and is a survivor.
